Panama Cutting Rates

PANAMA CITY —
The government, citing lower oil prices, announced Wednesday it will cut gas and electricity rates in a move to help Panama’s ailing industry. Although authorities did not lower the price of gasoline, domestic electricity rates will be reduced by 4% beginning April 15, with reductions of up to 30% for agriculture and 10% for industry.
