Helen Jensen of Los Angeles has worn out all her Peppy Steps shoes she bought in Florida two years ago, but she has not been able to find that brand in California. Can you step up with a source, or will Jensen feel that she has worn our her welcome before the shoe fits once again?

Fay Cheney of Santa Ana is craning her neck in her search for a back-view mirror to hang around the neck , leaving both hands free to style the back of your head. Can you help before we accuse Cheney of resorting to hindsight, or will she just throw up her hands in a realization that she perhaps stuck her neck out too far?

Joan M. Ewing of Whittier has sounded us out for someone who can refurbish a case for a 55-year-old trombone. Suggesting that she simply buy a case for a modern trombone would strike a sour note, because today’s trombones are shaped differently. Can you help before Ewing blows her stack, or will she be stuck on the horns of a dilemma?

Norma Bowring of Escondido is looking for a brown-sugar substitute (the same color as regular brown sugar but more powdery) that used to be available in many stores. Can you help sweeten the pot for Bowring, or will there be no way to sugarcoat her dilemma?

Judy Vahey of Orange, who was looking for a Dyna-Bee to strengthen her golf swing, should soon be able to find one just a chip shot away. After Lois Simpson of Los Angeles wrote to us looking for a picture lamp that runs on a battery, the similar problems of Mrs. Thomas Brannum of San Luis Obispo and Shirley Henderson of Glendora also came to light. Fortunately, all three readers should soon be able to light up their lives--and their walls. Lolly Freed of Brown & Gold Lighting, 176 N. La Brea Ave. (near Beverly Boulevard), Los Angeles, (213) 933-7149, writes that her store carries a number of cordless lighting devices, including a Picture Light for $21.95 and a Stick-up Light for $15.50.
