One in 10 Felony Arrests in NYC Involve Aliens

WASHINGTON —
About one of every 10 felony arrests in New York City involves an alien, many of them convicted criminals or illegal immigrants who should have been deported before, a congressional study says.
The General Accounting Office, an investigative arm of Congress, said many of the aliens continued to be arrested and convicted for crimes even after federal authorities had identified them as “potentially deportable.”
