AMC plans to build Jeeps in South America.

American Motors plans to link up with Daihatsu Motor, the smallest of Japan’s nine auto makers and the only one not exporting to the United States, to build four-wheel drive vehicles in Venezuela. The Jeeps will be designed by Daihatsu and use four-cylinder engines made by AMC in Kenosha, Wis.
