Snakes Alive! Search Delays Andrew’s Flight

LONDON —
Britain’s Prince Andrew left for a weekend in the Bahamas today after a half-hour delay while his plane was cleared of escaped snakes.
British Airways said staff scoured the plane before he boarded after baggage handlers saw snakes loose in the cargo hold. They discovered two harmless American corn snakes that escaped while being shipped into Britain on a flight from New York.
