Memorial to Honor 4 Slain at Kent State

KENT, Ohio —
Kent State University officials Friday unveiled a model for a memorial to four students killed by National Guardsmen during a campus protest on May 4, 1970, against the U.S. invasion of Cambodia.
The memorial has four circular depressions in the earth to represent each dead student and nine smaller impressions to represent students wounded in the clash.
University President Michael Schwartz said there is no construction timetable or an estimated cost for the project.
