Granada Hills Sobriety Check Nets 21 Suspects
Twenty-one people were arrested on suspicion of drunk driving at a sobriety checkpoint in Granada Hills late Friday and early Saturday, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
Police stopped 640 vehicles and gave field sobriety tests to 30 persons at the checkpoint at Balboa Boulevard and Chatsworth Street between 10 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. Frank Tosti said.
Checkpoints have been established periodically since the Christmas season. The department plans to continue setting up the checkpoints at San Fernando Valley locations with high numbers of accidents, police spokesmen have said.
