Construction Veteran to Serve as Wilson Co. Chief

K. C. Gopal, a 20-year veteran of the construction industry, has been named president of Ray Wilson Co., a Los Angeles contracting firm that marks its 100th anniversary this year.

The announcement was made by the firm’s Stockholm-based parent company, ABV, one of Europe’s largest general contractors, with revenues in excess of $1.2 billion worldwide. Projected revenues for the Wilson organization this year are estimated at $95 million.

Current and recently completed projects include the $7-million Los Angeles International Airport headquarters facility; the $9-million, city of Santa Ana Transportation Center; the $10-million Carlton Plaza office building and parking structure in Woodland Hills, and the $15-million Century Square office building and parking structure in Pasadena.

Gopal is a former executive vice president of Dillingham Construction. During his 14-year tenure with the company he negotiated contacts for the $55-million Sheraton Premiere Hotel, the $25-million Parsons International headquarters in Pasadena, Bullock’s corporate headquarters in Los Angeles and more than $300 million in hospital contracts.
