YWCA Selects Women of Year

The Torrance YWCA will honor its six women of the year at a luncheon April 19 at the Torrance Marriott.

They are:

Rancho Palos Verdes Councilwoman Jacki Bacharach, who has served as chairwoman of the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission and as a volunteer for Palos Verdes Community Helpline.

Margo Davis, who served as chairwoman of the Westside Center for Independent Living and the Artes de El Camino and is a member of the Private Industry Council and Soroptimist International in Torrance.

Mary Davis, owner of the Portofino Inn in Redondo Beach, who has served as president of the King Harbor Assn. and on the boards of the South Bay Hospital District, Salvation Army and the Cancer and Health Care Foundation.

Mikko A. Haggot, founding president of the Torrance Sister City Assn., who was a translator for the Los Angeles Olympic Committee and is a cultural consultant for KCET public television.

De De Hicks, who is wardrobe consultant for the Bullock’s store in Del Amo Fashion Center and has served as president of the Community Assn. of the Peninsula and of the St. John Fisher Parish Council.

Kay Conrad, a trustee for Little Company of Mary Hospital, who also volunteers for the Cancer Society and the League of Women Voters.
