A Texas bank was fined for currency violations.
Interfirst, a bank holding company based in Dallas, agreed to pay the government $315,000 in penalties for failing to report 1,261 large cash transactions. Interfirst is the 15th bank to be fined in a government effort to discourage laundering of money from drug dealing and other illegal activities.
