Five NATO Destroyers Reported in Exercise

LISBON, Portugal —
Five destroyers from North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries, including the U.S. ship Brescoe, are on military maneuvers in the Madeira-Azores-Portugal triangle, the Portuguese news agency NP said Monday.
The destroyers, which include the British Battleaxe, the Canadian Algonquin, the Dutch Tromp and the West German Hessen, will stop at the Azores next Wednesday to refuel, the agency said.
