Sandwiches Made With Ease

Share

Beerocks is the German name for these beefy baked sandwiches that are easy to make using frozen bread dough. BEEROCKS

2 (1-pound) loaves frozen bread dough

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped

1 clove garlic, pressed

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 1/2 teaspoons lemon pepper

1 small head cabbage, chopped

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoons caraway seeds

Melted butter or margarine

Let frozen bread dough thaw to room temperature.

Meanwhile, in skillet, cook ground beef with onion, garlic, salt and lemon pepper until beef is browned. Add cabbage, Worcestershire and caraway seeds. Cook until cabbage is tender. Drain off liquid.

On lightly floured board, roll each loaf to 12-inch circle. Cut each circle into 6 wedges. Spoon some of cabbage-meat filling onto center of each dough piece, dividing equally.

Pull three points of each wedge up to center and pinch to form seams and seal completely. Place on lightly greased baking sheets and brush with melted butter, if desired. Bake at 350 degrees 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot. Makes 12 sandwiches.
