Allied-Signal Inc. posted record net income of $186 million for the first quarter, a 39% increase over the like 1985 period. The company cited strong performances by newly acquired Signal Cos. and other Allied businesses, in particular European automotive operations and the fiber business, for the gains. Revenue rose 18%.
