Ecuadorean air force planes and helicopters, under the personal direction of President Leon Febres Cordero, searched the cloud-shrouded Andes for a missing plane carrying Education Minister Camilo Gallegos and four other government officials. Gallegos’ 21-year-old son was also on board. The Piper Aztec is believed to have gone down near the 19,352-foot Cotopaxi volcano, 25 miles southeast of Quito, the capital.
