BAD HABITS : THE COLOR BLACK

So things have come a long way since then, huh (“The Way It Was and Wasn’t in Black, White,” by Evelyn Keyes, April 20)? Well, think again, sister.

While Hattie McDaniel won an Academy Award for her performance in “Gone With the Wind” and was not invited to the recent “GWTW” grand reunion party, blacks today are invited to many parties, but are denied the awards for what surely were award-winning performances in “The Color Purple.”

Surely, not much has changed in Tinseltown or the United States, if one looks closely enough.
