Former Hughes Aircraft engineer Michael Guiliano was sentenced to six months federal imprisonment and ordered to repay $22,900 in expense account overcharges he admitted pocketing on more than a dozen contracts with NASA and the Pentagon. Guiliano, 39, of Redondo Beach, pleaded guilty March 31 on a federal indictment charging that he padded about 600 expense vouchers submitted between 1981 and 1984, when he worked for Hughes’ Space and Communications Division in El Segundo. U.S. District Judge Richard Gadbois ordered Guiliano to begin serving his sentence by Aug. 4.
