Tinker, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the National Broadcasting Co., shown with a picture of Gen. David Sarnoff, the broadcasting pioneer who started as a wireless operator and eventually became chairman of the Radio Corp. of America. Sarnoff created RCA’s subsidiary, the NBC network, in 1926.
