Falwell and Kadafi

Share

I am absolutely amazed at the latest verbiage that has come from the mouth of the Rev. Jerry Falwell. He has suggested that assassinating Moammar Kadafi of Libya would be an act of self-defense.

This is utter madness on Falwell’s part. He, a so-called man of God, has condoned outright murder. What happened to “Thou Shalt Not Kill”?

How can this man be a moral leader for his followers and speak of taking anyone’s life, let alone Kadafi’s? No one in his right mind can see how this would solve the terrorism problem.

Falwell uses the example of Hitler and the Holocaust for justification. In so many words he suggests that killing Hitler would have saved the Jews of Europe. With Hitler, as with Kadafi, there were and are plenty of followers who would, without hesitation, step in and see to it that the “Final Solution” is carried out.

Murdering Kadafi would only fan the flame of terrorism even more just as bombing and killing the innocent of Libya no doubt has hardened the determination of the victims to see to the destruction of America.

Jerry Falwell needs to take a good look at himself, and above all, think before he speaks. To me, his suggestion of murder being “right” is evidence of a sick mind.
