Author Theodore White in Coma

NEW YORK —
Theodore H. White, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of the “Making of the President” series, is in a coma and has been hospitalized with a stroke since Friday, a friend said today.
White, 71, was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital, where he was in guarded condition today. “He had a very serious stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, and he’s been unconscious ever since,” said Richard Clurman, a writer and longtime friend.
