Hotels Offer Half-Off

Share

Hyatt Hotels is resuming, on an indefinite basis, a 50%-off weekend promotion offer that began last November and officially ended Feb. 28.

Under this program, you get half off rack (the regular) rates--which can vary from hotel to hotel--on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays at 80 Hyatt properties in the United States (17 in California) and Canada. However, the offer is on a double-occupancy basis. If you’re traveling solo, you wouldn’t qualify for the discount.

The offer is good on any weekend, including holidays, with no black-out periods.

No Advance Conditions

There are no advance reservation conditions. However, rooms in this promotion are on a capacity-controlled and space available basis, so making an early reservation is advisable.

Ask for the discounted rate at the time of booking. If time allows, you’ll get a confirmation slip in the mail, which will indicate the discounted rate. Under any circumstances, it’s always a good idea to jot down your confirmation number when making your reservation, whether there’s time to get a confirmation slip or not.

No other promotional or discount rate can be used with this discount program. You have to use a credit card to guarantee your room beyond the check-in time, which can vary from hotel to hotel (so make sure you know what it is), but your reservation is on a confirmed basis.

Seven resort properties are not participating in the promotion. These include two hotels each in Hawaii and Puerto Rico; and properties in Monterey, Calif.; Orlando, Fla.; and Hilton Head, S.C. In addition, the Park Hyatts in Chicago and Washington aren’t participating.

Program Expands

The U.S.A. Plus frequent traveler program, conducted by the Inter-Continental, Fairmont, Ritz-Carlton and Regent hotel companies, has been expanded to allow guests a chance to earn free round-trip tickets on Pan Am to Florida, the Bahamas or any of 10 Caribbean destinations.

Participants can still earn a round-trip ticket to Europe, under the program’s original provisions, from U.S. gateways served by Pan Am or American Airlines.

You have to be a guest at any of the participating hotels a total of eight nights. These stays, which don’t have to be on consecutive nights or at the same hotel, must be accumulated by Sept. 1, 1986.
