Syrian Plot Reported

Egypt’s semiofficial Al Ahram newspaper said Sunday that Syria was alleged to be planning to kill PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat and name a Damascus-based Palestinian official, Khaled Fahoum, to replace him. The paper gave no source for the report, which said that Arafat learned of the alleged plot during a recent tour of countries close to the Palestine Liberation Organization.
