Manifesto Fetches $39,000

LONDON —
One of only 13 known first-edition copies of the 1848 Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels was sold at auction today for $39,600. It was bought by the Valmadonna Trust, a private collection of rare Jewish documents. Marx was of Jewish descent.
