A balloon carrying an anti-smoking message from an 11-year-old Maine schoolgirl was found in the field of an irate tobacco grower on Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Kim Dillingham of Skowhegan released the balloon last November as part of National Smokeout Day.

It was found May 9 by Ann Tesselaar, who grows tobacco on Prince Edward Island with her husband.

Tesselaar wrote to Kim and described her farm and family. But she also had a few testy remarks about those who oppose the smoking of tobacco.

“If they go after everyone to stop smoking, then they better go after all the things that are not good for you,” Tesselaar wrote. “And they forget all the money the tobacco companies give to sports.”
