2 From Each State to Be Naturalized on Ellis Island

President Reagan signed a congressional resolution Wednesday that permits two people from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. territories to become naturalized citizens at the Fourth of July rededication of the Statue of Liberty. The naturalization ceremonies will take place on Ellis Island in conjunction with a gala observance of the renovation and 100th anniversary of the statue.
