U.S. Champion Horse To Start in French Race

Flatterer, America’s champion steeplechase horse the past three years, will start in the French Hurdle Championship at Auteuil Race Course in France June 27.

The 7-year-old gelding has won 14-of-18 starts since turning to jump-racing in 1983. That year he became the United States’ only steeplechase triple crown winner, capturing the Grand National, Temple Gwathmey and Colonial Cup.
