Swimsuit Ads Prompt Violence in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM —
Dozens of ultra-Orthodox Israeli Jews in traditional black suits stoned cars and burned trash cans to protest billboards showing women in skimpy swimsuits.
One policeman was injured in a violent demonstration Sunday night in Jerusalem’s Mea Shearim neighborhood. Seven people were arrested.
The protesters demolished two bus shelters displaying what they considered indecent advertisements of swimwear and summer fashions.
