Torrential Rains Flood Texas

SAN ANTONIO, Tex. — Torrential rains drenched south-central Texas today with up to 10 inches of rain, sending water gushing through San Antonio’s fashionable Menger Hotel, where Teddy Roosevelt recruited the Rough Riders. Rain forced 1,500 people to flee their homes and stranded 200 cars on flooded roads.
