Member of Order Gets 60 Years

The former security chief for the white supremacist group The Order was sentenced today to the maximum 60 years in prison for his role in the Nazi-like organization’s plot to overthrow the U.S. government.

Richard Joseph Scutari, 38, of Port Salerno, Fla., was among 23 members of The Order indicted in April, 1985, on federal racketeering and other charges. In a surprise move, he pleaded guilty April 30 to racketeering, conspiracy to racketeer and to a $3.8-million armored car robbery near Ukiah, Calif., in July, 1984.
