Arkansas Execution Date Set for Triple Murderer

FORT SMITH, Ark. —
An Illinois man convicted of strangling three members of a family has been sentenced die.
Mark Gardner, 30, of Murphysboro, Ill., was found guilty of capital murder Saturday night, and the jury recommended the death penalty. Circuit Judge Don Langston scheduled the execution for Jan. 27, 1987.
