The agreement to add more transatlantic air routes between the two countries will probably become effective later this year, a spokesman for the state-owned carrier Air France said. Under the agreement, U.S. airlines, which already have flying rights to Paris, Marseille and Nice, will also be able to serve the industrial city of Lyon, the spokesman said. In return, Air France will be able to fly to Miami and San Francisco in addition to the passenger service that it already operates to New York, Washington, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and Anchorage, Alaska.
