‘Oneness in Diversity’

I want to thank you for an excellent article on the Unitarian Universalists. It was refreshingly clear and accurate. My only complaint was the lead paragraph--a striptease performance as part of worship may be an attention getter, but it is a one-of-a-kind event, not typical of our religious practice.

The opener could instead have been, for instance, a story of the congregation that voted $2,800 to help birth the nuclear freeze movement. That’s news, maybe as rare as the striptease, and much closer to the practice and ideal of our denomination. And it actually happened--here at the Sepulveda Unitarian Universalist Society in 1981.
