The body of an elderly woman was found in the Walker River in the eastern Sierra 10 miles downstream from the site of the May 30 tour bus crash that took the lives of 20 passengers and hospitalized 21 others, the Mono County coroner said. Although positive identification had not been made, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said the body is believed to be that of passenger Meryle Martin, missing and presumed dead since the bus plunged into the icy river and the only passenger not accounted for. The bus was returning to Santa Monica from a Nevada tour at the time of the crash. Five of the survivors remain hospitalized in serious or critical condition, officials said.
