Words of Veterans

Share

It’s very hard to put into words the appreciation that I and my fellow Vietnam veterans have for Paul Dean’s article (“Reflections of ‘Common’ GIs on Vietnam,” May 7). The response was so overwhelming that even the Minnesota telephone operators were bogged down from the calls coming in.

Thanks to Dean’s article the true story of the Vietnam era will be heard throughout the nation. For the Los Angeles Times to send a person all the way to our little Minnesota town is very unusual but so very commendable. Thank you from all of us.

We will continue to publish a quality magazine with “the reader being the writer.” The story of Vietnam will be told through the eyes of the person touched by that conflict, be it the soldier, the mother, brother, the friend.

I receive the newspaper clippings daily from not only the soldiers but the people affected from that war. (The address for Reflections magazine is: Box 234, Chanhassen, Minn. 55317.)
