'The System Still Works'

Your editorial was one of those meaningless pieces of writing. It sounded as if you weren't quite sure until it appeared that Judge Bruce Sumner had squeaked past Art Hoffmann in the Orange County congressional race.

The Lyndon LaRouche forces won't disappear because of one defeat where their fraudulent plans went awry. They can't win by playing fair, because there is nothing fair about their philosophies or tactics. The American system is fragile and vulnerable because it is open and fair.

But can tolerance be tolerant of intolerance? We can allow it freedom of speech. But should we allow it to hide under the banner of our major parties when the motives and strategies are undemocratic and racist?

The fascist mentality simply lurks beneath the surface until the right opportunity. It has happened in Europe. You think it can't happen here?
