About 200 friends and relatives attended services for James Goins, 26, an Army sergeant who died June 7 of wounds suffered in the April 5 terrorist bombing of a West Berlin discotheque. An eight-member color guard from Ft. Bragg followed Goins’ flag-draped coffin into the St. Lukes Free Will Baptist Church in Ellerbe, N.C., where the services were conducted. He will be buried Tuesday at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington. Another American soldier and a Turkish woman were killed during the attack that injured 230, including 64 Americans.
