Westwood : UCLA Receives $1 Million
The Ahmanson Foundation has given $1 million to UCLA to establish a new center for research and clinical use of positron emission tomography, a technique that provides knowledge about the chemical nature of many disorders.
Sherman M. Mellinkoff, dean of the UCLA School of Medicine, said that the technique is to modern medicine “what the microscope was to medicine in the 19th Century.”
