Mortar Explodes, Kills Guerrilla

LIMA, Peru —
A woman guerrilla was killed today when her mortar exploded as she was aiming it at a conference center where the Socialist International is holding a major meeting, police said.
The woman was blown through the window of a seventh-floor room 200 yards from the center by the explosion, which came only three minutes after Peruvian President Alan Garcia arrived to inaugurate the congress.
