The cancellation was prompted by the loss of a contract under which Interleaf was to be a subcontractor to Electronic Data Systems, Interleaf said. The offering of 3 million shares of common stock was to have commenced Friday. Interleaf and its underwriters intend to reschedule the offering for next week, the Cambridge, Mass., company said. Interleaf designs, develops and markets turnkey systems and software for computer-aided publishing applications. Alex. Brown & Sons, Lazard Freres & Co. and Hambrecht & Quist are the managing underwriters for the offering.
