Air Raid Drill in Taiwan

TAIPEI, Taiwan —
Air raid sirens wailed and thousands of people rushed for shelters Friday as Taiwan was brought to a standstill by an annual exercise. All traffic was stopped and factories, offices and schools were evacuated during the hourlong exercise, aimed at testing public readiness for possible attacks from the Chinese mainland.
