IRE ITALIA

Please advise Lahneen Gallo of Ontario that we Italians appreciate her defending the purity of our language (Calendar Letters, June 15).

However, she’s wrong in castigating William K. Knoedelseder Jr. and the L.A. Times with errors found in “A Wedding in the Family” (June 1). There were none.

“La Tarantella” is the spider dance and “Anema e Core” should be pronounced and sung in the Neapolitan dialect as it was written by Tito Manlio and Salve d’Esposito.

Ask me, I’m a Neapolitan.

As for her wet lasagna noodle that she wants to give The Times 50 lashes with, have her hold on to it. I’ll be sending her a bottle of red wine to wash it down with. Capisce?
