Bert Pearl; Canadian Radio Star

Canadian radio star Bert Pearl died in Los Angeles Wednesday after a long bout with cancer. He was 73.

Pearl was born in Winnipeg, Canada, and was one of Canada’s biggest radio stars between the 1930s and the 1950s. His radio program, “The Happy Gang,” was broadcast for more than 20 years on the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.

A United Press International obituary concerning the death of Canadian radio performer Bert Pearl, which The Times published on June 22, said that he left no known survivors. In fact, Pearl is survived by his sister, Frances Isaacs Pearl of Hollywood, three nephews and a niece.

Pearl had lived in Los Angeles for several years before his death. He leaves no known survivors.
