My appreciation to The Times for the trenchant editorial (June 15), "The Need Goes On," which tells of wrongdoing in the United Way. As The Times recommends, this situation calls for a thorough examination by an independent citizens commission.
Whatever is wrong in the United Way must be made right. Otherwise, how can the organization face the honest faces of indignant contributors?
But, no matter what, we must not give up our faith in charity and generous giving.
