Valu-Rite Headquarters to Move from Santa Ana

McKesson Co. is moving the national headquarters of its Valu-Rite drugstores to San Francisco from Santa Ana, the company said Wednesday. The western regional headquarters, however, will stay in Orange County.

McKesson, a San Francisco-based drug maker, is integrating Valu-Rite into the firm, said Tom Kopkash, vice president of sales. Valu-Rite had been a separate division, but McKesson executives began the consolidation last year after they noticed some overlap between jobs within the two, Kopkash said.

All but five of the 13 people now working in the Santa Ana office will be moved to San Francisco or placed elsewhere; the others head up the regional office and will move to McKesson’s existing facility in Anaheim. Valu-Rite, which franchises the right to its name, products and services, has more than 2,200 member stores, including 250 in California.
