From Reuters
STOCKHOLM —
Richard W. Murphy, U.S. assistant secretary of state, arrived in Sweden on Wednesday for talks on the Middle East with his Soviet counterpart, Vladimir Polyakov, U.S. diplomats said.
They said Murphy and Polyakov will hold meetings at the U.S. and Soviet embassies over the next two days.
The meetings are part of a series agreed on by President Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev at their summit meeting in Geneva last year, officials said.
