Spectrum Acquisition Complete, Datum Says

Datum Inc. said it has completed its purchase of Spectrum Technology Inc., a Goleta-based supplier of defense and aerospace specialty frequency products. The purchase, for an undisclosed cash amount, comes two months after Datum’s announcement of an agreement in principle to acquire all of Spectrum’s 45.5 million shares.

This is the second such acquisition for Datum this year. In January, the company purchased the assets of Bancomm Inc., a San Jose-based manufacturer of precision timing devices.

Datum, which manufactures precision frequency and timing instruments for military, industrial, space and commercial use, is based in Anaheim and owns a plant in Beverly, Mass.
