Hybridoma Sciences Inc., a Fountain Valley-based developer of diagnostic products used in clinical laboratories, has changed its name to Hycor Biomedical Inc. The company will retain the stock symbol HYBD and will continue to market its products through its subsidiary, ICL Scientific Inc., also based in Fountain Valley.

Hycor also said that it has received a $460,000 grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute to develop an test for apolipoproteins, which are useful in assessing heart disease risk. The company previously was awarded a $50,000 Phase I grant for the same project.
