American Nucleonics, a Westlake Village electronics firm, said its earnings were off 15% on 22% lower sales during its third quarter, ended May 31, because of a delay in a major government contract. The company said the contract is classified and would give no details.
The company earned $289,000 on sales of $1.3 million in the quarter, down from $340,000 on sales of $1.7 million in the same period last year.
Despite the lower third-quarter results, American Nucleonics had record earnings and sales for the first nine months of its fiscal year. Earnings rose 24%, to $974,000. Sales were up 8%, to $4.8 million.
