Prof. Clark on Mahony, Playboy

Share

I must compliment Prof. Henry Clark for his sane and realistic comments on the censuring of Playboy magazine by religious moralists.

However, I was curious about his piece of advice to a would-be censor: “You’d do better to attack its juvenile humor. . . . “ After cogitating awhile about this, I’ve concluded the good professor of social ethnics has a valid point. The place for juvenile humor is certainly not in an adult publication. Immature wit has no business being mixed with mature ladies. Before long, God forbid, Playboy may be interviewing Dr. Seuss. Perhaps legislation should be passed to not allow kid jokes in a man’s magazine. Let’s restrict juvenile humor to childrens books!

I think I’ll write Hugh Hefner a letter.
