Embassy Suites Hotel Rising in La Jolla

Construction has started on an $18-million, 335-suite Embassy Suites hotel on La Jolla Village Drive in the heart of San Diego’s “Golden Triangle” development area.

Completion of the 12-story hotel between Interstates 5 and 805 is scheduled for the winter of 1987, according to Byron Head, western region construction manager for Dallas-based Embassy Suites Inc.

Head added that the company will construct the area’s first pedestrian bridge over La Jolla Village Drive, linking the all-suite hotel with the University Towne Center Mall across the street.
