The approximately 90,000 members of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists (AFTRA) should hold a vote on whether to authorize a possible strike against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, the western section of the joint SAG/AFTRA national boards decided unanimously. AFTRA spokeswoman Pamm Fair said the eastern section of the joint boards is expected to make a similar decision on Thursday. Ballots will probably be mailed on Friday and results should be tabulated by July 23, Fair said. Negotiations on a new three-year pact were suspended last week.
